Loan Processor/Loan Assistant Seminar

This day-long workshop structured for loan assistants and loan processors, credit administration supervisors, and other members of the bank’s loan support staff with credit administration responsibilities is designed to increase the lending knowledge and administrative effectiveness of one of the most important positions in a community bank’s lending staff—the loan assistant/loan processor. Participants will receive resource websites, sample documents, narratives, guidelines, procedures, and checklists.

Bank Manager 2-day School

Back to School at the VBA

This one-day program is designed to provide training to bankers interested in making a difference in economic and financial education in their local schools.



Ranging from 2-4 days, these programs focus on specific areas such as lending or compliance to give bankers a comprehensive overview of the skills and knowledge needed to excel in that function. Content is usually presented at the intermediate level with the exception of the Compliance School which is geared towards personnel new to this arena. Dynamic and knowledgeable instructors and extensive peer interaction in a relaxed, academic environment further enhance the overall learning experience.


AML & BSA School

The Bank Secrecy Act School is a two-day program designed to encompass the broad range of topics found within the realm of the Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering.

Commercial Lending School

While “relationship-based” lending is one of the foundations of community banking, today’s economic environment demands a complete understanding of your borrower’s repayment capacity. This course focuses on the fundamental concepts that lenders must understand when underwriting commercial loan requests.


Compliance School

The Compliance School is designed for entry-level compliance personnel to help build a solid foundation toward bank compliance. It will also cover any new regulation updates. The one day Advanced Session is geared for more seasoned professionals and will cover any new regulation changes.

Virginia Bankers School of Bank Management

Through the use of highly qualified instructors and a challenging curriculum, the VBA School of Bank Management is designed to provide a multi-dimensional educational experience in banking. Upon completion of three one-week summer sessions and eight home study problems, students will have developed a range of skills that should both enhance current performance and qualify them as candidates for advancement.



Executive Leadership Institute

The Executive Leadership Institute is a five month leadership development program designed to actively enhance the leadership, organizational and performance skills of the highly-motivated, high-potential banker who is currently in or progressing toward a senior level position.

Management Development Program

The Management Development Program is a five-month program designed for entry level bankers who have developed a passion for banking, want to enhance their knowledge of the business of banking, and who are motivated to excel in their career and reach their full potential.
